Market Street Abatement was a complex adaptive-reuse project of a 1940s-era mill into a modern self-storage facility. Our team successfully abated large amounts of asbestos-containing thermal system insulation (TSI) from the four-story facility along with asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic from the old office space. The abatement was a unique challenge due to the size and volume of the outdated water system, with pipes ranging anywhere from 4” to 16” in diameter and covering roughly 140,000 square feet of floor space. Our team was able to outperform our projected schedule by one week and leave the facility safe and clean for the client’s build-back.
